Noise

Reducing noise
We understand that noise is a large concern. It seems our lives are filled with more and more noise everyday. That's why we are taking aggressive steps to reduce the noise from our operation to low levels. We will do this in three ways: where we place our operations, construction of berms and by using special equipment.

The new gravel processing plant proposed for the site is located as far away from homes as we can get. It's about 1,900 feet from the nearest structure (more than six football field lengths), much farther than our current operation is from Riveridge Golf Course, Home Depot or a number of expensive homes.

Strict Noise Requirements
This new site is subject to strict noise standards set by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

We plan to take a number of steps to make the River Road operations even quieter. By using newer, quieter equipment, improved engine mufflers, rubber liners in hoppers and trucks, we can reduce noise levels dramatically.

Landscaped berms around the new production facility and the mining areas will block much of the noise from reaching nearby homes.

Noise from our current operation does not ruin the experience at the golf course next door. There's no reason to believe noise from our River Road operation would ruin the experience at nearby farms or homes, either.
